About me

I am a doctoral researcher in Transational Governance – yes, I myself have been struggling to figure out what it means. More practically, I do research on public policy and would go as far as describing myself as a policy analyst. I have been doing research on quite a few topics in the scholarly field of ‘EU stuff’, and I have also worked hands-on at the science-policy interface, especially on projects concerning knowledge brokerage and science-for-policy initiatives.

I have spent my adult life so far wrapping my head around policymaking and how it occurs – in all fairness, with rather modest results, but you can find more about it on the publications page.

I like to find new hobbies that I promtly abandon a few weeks in. I have tried photography, vynils, climbing, pretentious specialty coffee tasting, but so far research is the one I have been keeping up with longer. I am fluent in cynicism and I guess wordplays in the titles are the only salvageable part of my academic work.

My research interests, much alike my interest in general, are quite diverse. I have explored different approaches and methods applied to the study energy and climate policy, migration governance, Euro-Mediterranean relations, and the role(s) of knowledge, learning, and evidence in policymaking, with a particular focus on the European Union context.
